Blue Star Fern (Phlebodium aureum)

Related to a hare-foot fern, Phlebodium aureum, is a unique, fern popularly grown for it's blue-grey foliage. It’s native to tropical regions of South America, North America and the Caribbean where it grows as an epiphyte. Growing in a clump, this plant bears blue-grey fronds that extend from the creeping rhizomes, which have a furry appearance.

LIGHT
Prefers bright light.

WATER
Keep moist over the warmer months. Reduce watering in the cooler months and allow the plant to dry longer between watering. Can adapt to drier conditions.

NUTRIENTS
Feed with slow-release fertiliser once every month (refer to packaging for dosage). In the warmer months, feed twice with a liquid fertiliser.

IDEAL TEMPERATURE
Cool to warm.
