Green Prayer Plant (Maranta leuconeura)
A cousin plant to the calathea, the Maranta is part of the prayer plant family.
Highly sought after for the beautiful patterning on its oval shaped leaves, this prayer plant has a silver midvein framed by a blush of rich purple-black. Each leaf is unique and will show variations in colouration, including some leaves with only silver patterns.
Prayer plants prefer to dry-out somewhat between waterings. This means watering the soil well and allowing the plant to drain off the excess water. Check the soil weekly and only watering again once the top half of the pot has dried out. Pot in planters with a drainage hole.

WATER
Prefers to be dried out between waterings. Keep moist over the warmer months but not soggy or waterlogged. Reduce watering in the cooler months and check on soil frequently.
NUTRIENTS
Feed with slow-release fertiliser once every six months (refers to packaging for dosage). In the warmer months, feed fortnightly with a liquid fertiliser.
